Work Opportunities on Student Visa to Cover Expenses
One of the main factors influencing the decision of many overseas students to study in Australia is
the possibility of working while attending school. International students with student visas in
Australia have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours every two weeks during semesters and
unrestricted hours during semester breaks.
International students must, however, go to the Australian Taxation Office to obtain a TFN prior to applying for employment (Taxation File Number). The procedure calls for submitting a few pieces of
information, including a passport, proof of enrolment, name, current residence, date of birth, and the date of arrival in Australia.
